About Brenau University

Brenau University was founded in 1878 in Gainesville, Georgia. The name is a mix of the German word “brennen,” meaning “to burn” and the chemical symbol for gold, “Au.” Their education model, called the Brenau Model, aims to promote education that expands worldviews, focuses on the sciences, communicates for understanding, and fosters creativity. Brenau University has a women’s college dedicated to empowering future generations of women. They offer an Executive Women’s MBA program, aiming to promote successful female leaders to the next stages of their career. Brenau is a non-sectarian, privately owned institution steeped in tradition. In keeping with their goals of integrating the new with history, Brenau University also offers numerous online courses and regional programs across Georgia.
